The Netherlands Cancer Institute and Andros Clinics are intensifying their collaboration to help men with an increased risk of prostate cancer more quickly and effectively. Together, we ensure that every man is directed to the place that best matches his situation as quickly as possible. This not only improves the quality of care but also ensures that patients receive help faster.
What does this collaboration entail?
Through this collaboration, we can assess where a patient would receive the best treatment even before the first intake:
- Men with a higher risk profile (such as younger men with a family history) are actively referred to the NKI Center for Early Diagnostics, especially if they qualify to participate in scientific research.
- Men with urinary symptoms and a lower risk profile who are registered at the NKI are referred to Andros, when appropriate.
Andros and the NKI Center for Early Diagnostics share a location (opposite the main entrance of the NKI), making this exchange efficient and patient-friendly.
the NKI and Andros already collaborate within the Prostate Cancer Network Netherlands. This new partnership builds on this existing collaboration and is the next step towards providing the right care in the right place.
